My friend’s friend helped me had my hair cut last night. I was quite satisfied with my new look. What a cleaver astronomer!

而这两个寺庙互相面对面;

又要求了很多的工具;

Hay fever

This morning I went to see my doctor in health centre and told her that my nose was stuffed with mucus; my eyes were blocked with sleep; and I had a running nose, eyes itching. She smiled and said that were typical hay fever symptom. This year is very bad because many people were affected by hay fever first time in their life. What a shame! I am one of them! The doctor gave me 30 Fexofenadine Hcl 120MG tables and a Nasal Spray. I checked the instruction and found that the tablet may cause headache, dizziness, tiredness/sleepiness, sickness, sleeping disorders, bad dreams or nervousness….Oh, I hope I would be lucky that I wouldn’t have any of the side effects!

Follow-up to My friend in Beijing from Wenli's blog

Here is some information
about hay fever

You can buy some tablets from a phamarcy shop on campus. There are several
brands for you to
choose. For me, it is quite useful.

Don't worry dear, we are just having a commonly typical English experience

My friend in Beijing

Follow-up to Hayfever from Wenli's blog

I just talked with my friend in Beijing and was told that she got a hayfever for about 3 or 4 years! Ok, then I am not the most weird Chinese.

Hayfever

It is so annoying that I got a hayfever recently. Until now it is about 3 or 4 weeks. At first I thought it was a cold or flu, but later I found the symptoms were different from normal cold or flu. My Chinese friends laughed at me because I was the first Chinese whom they met that were suffering from hayfever. Is that because I have been in this country too long so the system of my body changed? No idea.

Oh, my goodness, my eyes feel painful, and I have been sneezing all the time…Maybe only a heavy rain can rescue me.

Bicycle

I bought a second-hand bicycle yesterday. It is a small female style bicycle, which is just suitable for me. It is so nice to enjoy the convenience especially in this season at Warwick… Maybe the next thing is to buy a raincoat.

Interview….

Last night I went to interview one participant who only has time for me at 10:00pm. I was really appreciated because I know everyone is busy, and she was really doing me a favour. We chatted for about one hour regarding her academic and daily life, and I gave her some suggestions. Then I started my interview. When I came home it was about 1:00am this morning. I was really happy because I knew I was making progress. Thanks a lot for those students who kindly spent their time on my project….

Greedy Algorithms

My friend told me this "Greedy Algorithms" today. It was so interesting…..

"Greedy algorithms work in phases. In each phase, a decision is made that appears to be good, without regard for future consequences. Generally, this means that some local optimum is chosen. This 'take what you can get now' strategy is the source of the name for this class of algorithms. When the algorithm terminates, we hope that the local optimum is equal to the global optimum. If this is the case, then the algorithm is correct; otherwise, the algorithm has produced a suboptimal solution. If the best answer is not required, then simple greedy algorithms are sometimes used to generate approximate answers, rather than using the more complicated algorithms generally required to generate an exact answer."
