Hayfever, 2006

Unfortunately I got hayfever again this year though I think I am very healthy. The feeling is horrible….

Today I read an article in Chinese about how to get rid of your hayfever completely. The secret is to wear mask all the time. I think I will have a go.

  1. I can't read the chinese, but I do know this: most masks won't help at all with hay fever; pollen grains are tiny. If you can get hold of HEPA masks, they are useful. You need to shower as soon as you take the mask off, though, otherwise the pollen on your clothes, skin, and hair will aggravate you again.

I use a drug called desloratadine (with the trade name Neoclarityn in the UK), which is the most effective for me.

  2. Hi, Max
Many thanks for giving me the tips for using masks in a proper way.I think it is very wise to take a shower after taking off the mask! The reason is so obvious, but sometimes we just don't know until somebody else point out.

Thanks for the heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, I am feeling much better now without any mask or drug. However, I still appreciate your wise advice—— thank you very much for sharing your experience with me!

  3. Try acupuncture and saline solution for Hayfever! :)

Acupuncture and washing inside of the nose with saline solution does the trick for me.

I never used to like honey, actually it made me sick, but over the last year i think my taste-buds must have changed and now and then i would have a honey butty. Not very exciting i know, however i started to like it.

Not thinking it had done me any good, i just eate it because it was ok. That was until i noticed that for the first time in my life, in early July 2006, I had no hey-fever, which i have had every year since i was about 10(now 54). Now is it the honey, or just my age. I dont know, but i am still eating it!
