link Clever chap has mapped Yahoo traffic news onto Google Maps – US only, unfortunately, but a neat cross application

But without the satellite images. There aren't free ones available for the UK at the same resolution as for the US. Maybe the resolution is not good enough to be useful? If it came with aerial images as good as those on multimap, I could get quite excited:-)

I know what my roof looks like.
It's still better than multimap – faster, better interface and some neat tools for locating stuff near a place.

But I don't know what your roof looks like. Although I agree your roof probably isn't that interesting:-)
But what I have found interesting is looking at the multimap images for a larger area around my house. There's so much more green than I realised. I've found interesting places to go to that I wouldn't have realised were interesting without the aerial images. Also, sometimes it is easier to get a feel for a place from an aerial photo than from a map. Last summer we were staying in a cottage in the middle of nowhere (or so it seemed) in Cornwall, and the maps were reasonably featureless, but the aerial photos weren't.

It's made of dull grey tiles with a chimney in the middle – quite low and covered in lichen.
Fair point about the aerial photos.

No Ordnance Survey mapping either, which is a huge win for multimap if, like me, you tend to swap mountain walking/climbing/biking plans in email/IM conversations.
