Another spam update

Follow-up to Spam update from Steve's blog

It has been a while since I even noticed how many messages were in my gmail spambox. But just now the number sort of leaped out at me – 6354. Given that stuff disappears from there after a month, that’s a lot. In fact the oldest message in there is dated Aug 3rd, so there’s 32 days worth, which amounts to 198/day. Back in February when I last posted about this I was getting 157/day.

The good thing is that these are all in the spambox and I haven’t had to look at any of them. Gmail’s spam filtering seems to work really, really well…

It does indeed. I’ve accumulated 350+ in about 4-5 days, yet I get one spam message creep through to my inbox maybe once every 2-3 months at most.
