Hi to everyone, sorry I've been off the blogs a while (I'll catch up at some point); I've been very busy. I finish my degree and suddenly I'm working harder than I've ever worked before!
Work is continuing on the Formula Student car and picking up pace rapidly; 12-hour days (8–8) last week turned into 14-hour days in the Engineering workshops over both days of the weekend, and yesterday a mammoth 19-hour stretch, from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. We were back in the workshops at 8 this morning, and have spent all day on about 3 hours' sleep. I've got at least another 30 minutes of sorting out sponsor logos before I can contemplate sleep, which will only last until 7 anyway.
The car ran today, very well – I'd love to show pictures, but we were testing at MIRA, where things are kept secret enough that no cameras are allowed on site – but we've got a couple of very, very long days ahead of us to fix all the silly little things that will stop the car passing scrutineering and finishing the competition.
If anybody wants to come and watch, we're competing at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground this weekend (9th-10th) against about 60 other unis from around the world. It's free to get in, and transport may be negotiable!
