AHDB Aphid News

The latest edition of AHDB Aphid News is available (week ending 5th August).

  • The peach–potato aphid was recorded from six suction trap sites, increasing at Newcastle. There was a hotspot at Kirton (67).
  • The potato aphid was recorded from Dundee, Gogarbank and Newcastle, with numbers increasing at only Newcastle.
  • The mealy cabbage aphid was recorded from 10 sites but decreasing across the country, apart from Hereford (where there was an increase).
  • One currant-lettuce aphid was recorded from the Kirton ST this week.
  • No willow ̶carrot aphids were recorded.
  • The pea aphid was recorded from nine sites, increasing at only Newcastle and Hereford. The highest number was recorded from York (42).
  • The black bean aphid was caught at five sites. There was a hotspot at Dundee (32).
