Pest update from Wellesbourne

We are now emptying the traps weekly rather than twice-weekly. Between 2nd and 9th October our 3 yellow water traps captured:

  • Cabbage root flies - 4 male and 2 female
  • Bean seed flies - 52
  • Pollen beetles - 6
  • Flea beetles - 34
  • Cabbage stem weevil - 6
  • Cabbage seed weevil - 0
  • Cabbage stem flea beetle - 9

We caught 2 carrot flies on 3 sticky traps in our second sowing of carrots.

There were no diamond-back moths, no silver Y moths, no cabbage moths and 1 turnip moth in our pheromone traps (2 traps per pest).

There was 1 cabbage root fly egg around our 15 brassica plants.
