Pest update from Wellesbourne

Between Friday 28th July and Tuesday 1st August we caught:

On 3 sticky traps:

  • 84 carrot flies

In 3 water traps in a plot of swedes.

  • 17 male cabbage root flies and 9 females
  • 36 bean seed flies
  • 81 pollen beetles
  • 45 flea beetles
  • 24 cabbage stem weevils
  • 4 cabbage stem flea beetles

We also recovered 1 cabbage root fly egg from the soil around 15 cauliflower plants (new plants).

We caught 1 silver Y moth in our pheromone traps.
