Hi, I’m Jaspreet

Hey all! My name is Jaspreet Kaur (aka Jas) and I hail from the ever-top ‘exam-scoring’ district of Punjab, India (It is called Hoshiarpur). On Gibbet Hill campus, Warwick Medical School (WMS), I am undertaking my Doctor of Philosophy training, and currently working on my thesis which will be submitted for the assessment in the mid of coming New Year.

I also work as a Biomedical Scientist in our beloved National Health Services in Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at Rugby, Warwickshire.

Recently, I’ve taken up the role of WMS Research Exchange Ambassador at Wolfson Research Exchange, University of Warwick. ‘Ambassador’ in itself is a big word for me, and feels like there is a lot which will be required off me in fulfilling this role.

In my spare time, if I could I love to catch up on the movies and BBC iplayer, bike around and run (when it’s not too cold), and go out with friends.

I’m always in the hunt for the opportunities where I can contribute in any possible way, and love talking to fellow students about their research projects. It fascinates me how many different areas are being explored within different Warwick scientific communities, and are continuously evolving.

This is my very first blog entry on here, and kept it light and introductory. It is exciting to be able to say ‘stuff’ in writing to wider audience out there.

This is my Facebook link – feel free to add me on!
