Ethics in robust decision making
When we look at the corporate world, businesses are pressured daily by the public opinion (to maintain an ideal corporate image) and govenment legislation (to follow the rules and regulations) to act ethical. Hence, in whatever decisions an organization makes, there is that push for them to think in an ethical manner. But, being ethical is associated with subjectivity, individual judgement on what is good or right, an on going debate in CSR.And sometimes making a rational decision might mean putting ethics aside and going for the quickest fix/soulution. Conflict is then likely to emerge as there will be those individuals who will want to take ethical considerations into account and there will be those who will not. I personally think that ethics should be taken into account but not at the risk/expense of increasing costs or time and resource consumption.
Until Next Time,
