Final remarks on RDM
Fianlly submitted my RDM PMA, and wow, who could have thought 2000 words would be so challenging afterall? We are so used to writing over 3000 words for our PMA's that 2000 seemed as though it would be a slice of cake. But that was definitely not the case. In fact it was much more challenging than a 4000 word PMA because it meant being brief, concise and critical.
There was so much to take from this module, and I suppose we will continue to see that in our remaining modules but some of the key aspects that stood out for me regarding making robust decisions were such as: One, the role of leadership, you need direction in making robust decisions and without leadership you are likely to end up going through circles for days. Two,you have to anticipate uncertainty...we live in an imperfect world, playing offensive is safer than waiting for uncertainty to strike only then to start playing defence. Three, risk and bias will always be there, but you can reduce both of them by being pro-active and avoiding subjecivity. Four, robust decision making takes time and commitment, it asks for a lot and thus you have to learn to manage your stress. Last but not least, communication is key...it is the only way you can resolve interpersonal issues and focus on what is best.
Until Next Time,
Xxxs
