Is that where there’s a designer outlet village or is that somewhere else in Oxfordshire? I’ve been reading a lot of Tennyson and Proust recently.

Yes, I’ll share some with you:-
That which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
And here are some ideas from Proust that may not change your life but could help you make more of it:-
1. It’s okay for your favourite subject to be yourself.
2. Truths about the past are elusive, but…
3. The past is never really over.
4. Avoid cliches.
5. Everything is connected.
I love this last one as it’s something I’ve suspected for a very long time and it’s somehow very reassuring. Something else I love:-
“It’s Proustian to journey, half dreamily, into the past and caress its details.”
