Cov Half Marathon Training Underway

The Coventry Half Marathon is now less than 3 months away so with a cool breeze in the air I thought this evening would b the perfect time to start the training. My aim is to run it in under 1h30.
Although it's been over 2 years since I ran London, I thought it would be a good idea to plunge into the deep end and do the 13 mile distance straight away. As the map on the right illustrates, the run from my home in Malvern to the Powick roundabout on the outskirts of Worcester and back fits the distance perfectly. And with a cruel climb back up to the Powick Hill just after halfway, it provides a challenge which most road half marathons do not.
Well good news! I did the run in 1h39 so it seems a reasonable challenge to aim for 1h30! Let’s hope I can keep the training up and I do not pick up injuries!

Alright Ollie, sounds like your having fun in sunny malvern.
I have just registered for the half marathon and have texted andy hayden and ben williams telling them they should get involved. 1h39 is sickeningly quick, i'm hoping for anything under two hours. Do you reckon Dr Dave Wood will be running?
I'm off to cornwall with the hippies on monday, its gonna be great.

Awesome stuff Kempez! I think Ben Williams plans to run it and we all know Andy Hayden will not be able to say no! Will Dr. Dave be at the start line? I think yes. It's his sort of thing isn't it? I tell you what though, if he runs it, he will put us all to shame. Rumor has it he is lightning over long distances.
