QOTD: Quote of the Day

Why would anyone want to learn Irish? Isn't it the same as English?

Chris Payne 6th Feb 2006, commenting on Irish self-learning language pack in the university bookshop. We promptly ditched him there and then.

Eastcoast–Westcoast

Tradition has it that the Electronic Engineers will never understand why anyone would want to be a Civil Engineer, and they think the exactly the same thing about us.

Talking to Aunty May over lunch yesterday in London, she said that people normally think "the grass is greener on the other side, but if you think your own grass is greener, then you can't be doing too badly!"

The Pressing Topic of the Year
Unfortunately Chris Payne has now after reading Craig's Soil Mechanics book, realised he's doing the wrong degree and wants to jump ship.

Reading week

Oh great, thanks. You can stop laughing at us science students. Yeah, you fancy art students with your Relaxation Reading Week. I had a 9-5 today whilst you were enjoying home luxuries like "food on the table" and a shower with REAL water pressure!

Enjoy your week "reading," ha! like you'll really get any done!

Lakers win and lose

Congrats to Lakers team 1 winning 11–1. Shamefully conceding one goal though.

And a tough game for Lakers team 2 being edged out 2–3. Tension mounts as the end of season approaches the horizon: can Lakers finish in the top 3?
