Peggle not–so–extreme

So I finally give into the peer pressure and purchase Valve’s ‘Orange Box’ a compilation of Half Life 2 and related games. I mostly just want to play Portal but I figure I’ll get Episodes 1 and 2 at some point anyways so why not. Even though I dislike the concept of the bundle on principle, but that’s for another blog entry.

In addition to all the expected games, it also comes with “Peggle Extreme”. Now I was thinking this would be an updated and improved version of the brilliant Peggle, but turns out it’s just a really weird 10-level, 5-challenge demo with Half Life images and samples dropped it, clashing bizzarely with Peggle’s shiny pretty colourful cartoon pallet. It’s really bloody weird.

Still, if you’ve not played Peggle before and picked up the Orange Box for the ‘proper’ games in it, make sure to give it a try. You’ll probably get more playtime out of it than any of the others anyways. Oh and beware: it’s very addictive.
