I guess since this is a new blog I should take a bit of time out to write a 'mission statement' or what-not, so you have some idea what you're reading.
Firstly, it's not a diary of my life. Infact, I'll rarely mention myself unless I'm feeling oddly self indulgent, as frankly I don't think my life is interesting enough that anyone in thier right mind or otherwise would want to read it. Note this is by no means slagging off people who do so in thier blogs, aslong as they don't expect me to read them (unless they have a really have a really fascinating life, or are attractive young women describing in detail thier sexual conquests)
Second, stylistically I try to make my writing humourous wherever possible. If you're going to take the time to read this then I may aswell try to make it entertaining. Sometimes this may be at the expense of a) spoiling a serious arguement, or b) making me sound like a dick – for example despite the end of the previous paragraph, I'm not actually a sexist pervert and have never read such a blog, though I'm sure they must exist.
I'll also never use text speak, I hate it, it's for writing texts with limited space; this is a blog, I can write as much as I want, so I get the luxury of spelling out actual words. Sometimes I might not use full sentances though if I'm feeling lazy, or might just put in random elipses instead of proper punctuation… it's an MSN habit.
What will I write about? Don't really know, whatever comes to mind and seems interesting when I feel like writing. Will this blog still be active in a months time? I hope so, but I am a lazy git.
Since it's sort of expected, I'm going to break rule number 1 now and say who I am: I'm a third year Computer Science student (on a four year course, because getting a real job is scary). I'm on the Comedy Society exec. When you tell people that they think you must be funny – I sometimes am when writing but I'm not a comedian. I do however spend far too much time watching stand-up comedy. If you've been to a union comedy night this academic year you may know my writing from the Comedy Society newsletter we distribute there. Sometime soon I'll get round to uploading them somewhere. That's enough about me anyways, I'll just wave hello to all the established bloggers here, hope I amuse or entertain you as you have me.
Adios for now
