Professional Engineering Publishing – new web site launched

Professional Engineering Publishing (owned by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers: ImechE) has just launched a new web site. The site allows access to some PEP journal content and you can register for a personal account to gain additional functionality. You can even follow them on Twitter.

Improvements to the TechXtra Technology Search Service

Numerous improvements have been made to TechXtra http://www.techxtra.ac.uk/ the free technology search service.

TechXtra is provided by the ICBL and Library at Heriot-Watt University.

Using TechXtra, anyone can find articles, books, the best websites, the latest industry news, job announcements, technical reports, technical data, full text eprints, the latest research, thesis & dissertations, teaching and learning resources and more, in engineering, mathematics and computing.

TechXtra searches over 4 million items from 31 collections in technology, and provides several additional services.

Changes include:

  • New full text indicators on search results pages, which show the likely availability of full text.
  • Faster searching of the Arrow and CISTI databases, where you can find Australian and Canadian research.

We're delighted to tell you about the redesign of Engineering Village, which is going live today, Monday, May 4th.  We've taken all the content you liked and added new navigation and features to help you become even more productive with Engineering Village.


Highlights include:

  • Support materials:View the latest training schedules, webinars, product information and more to help keep your EV skills sharp.    
  • Librarian Resource Center: Only for our customers!  Get exclusive access to presentations, posters, and other resources to help you develop teaching materials. 
  • Ask An Expert Bulletin Board: View answers to commonly-asked questions from EV's Ask An Expert feature.   Use this bulletin board to post your  comments, feedback, and questions that you want answered.
  • Title Suggestion Form:Want to nominate a journal for inclusion on Engineering Village? Just click on the form and let us know!
