It's not that I'm trying to sneak up on you; quite the contrary, in fact – I try to stomp in as loudly as I can, waving my arms as I go, but to no avail. I can only assume that your iPod goes up to 11.

It's my BOSE headphones that are the main problem, they block out all external sound :)
