The sub–$500 Mac?
Well it looks as though Apple have answered my prayers. I've been a fan of theirs for some time and have owned an iPod for what must be over a year now.. i've actually wanted a Mac since, well, forever but i'm just too familiar with a PC and I don't think I could sacrifice my PC for the sake of a Mac.
And simply put I just don't have the cash to splash out £1000+ on a good Mac.
But it seems my problems are over. Apple are apparently set to drop a bit of a bomb at the Macworld Expo (which starts next week) to announce a mega cheap monitor-less iMac aimed at Windows users who want to experience Mac ownership without having to spend mega bucks buying the kit! How thoughtful!

Have you seen ctrl alt del the online comic? Well if you haven't, let me introduce you to the joy of Wintereenmas! A holiday for gamers everywhere, it finally gives you a proper excuse to just play video games, all week long (I think its the last week in January, but not too sure). Fantastic stuff.

I don't read a lot of CTRL ALT DEL - more of a Penny Arcade reader :)
But no.. I hadn't heard of Wintereenmas before. Sounds rather cool.. but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about it on the net. Unless i'm just not looking hard enough…

And I'm just checking your not expecting something amazing… cos really, its not. It really only lets you wear silly clothes and have a gaming party. but hey, that's enough for me!

Well according to the tradition it looks like I need to be sending Gabe Newell and the people at Valve a nice letter telling them how much I enjoyed Half Life 2 and thanking them for their services to gaming in 2004 :)
Thanks for that.. i'll pass it round to all my geek collegues :)

Not that I was calling you a geek of course… ooops. Put my foot in it again. Ah well. As much as I know you from the limiting world of blog comments, you're lovely! And you like Top Gear. Which makes you the best type of geek ever to walk the earth.
Phew. Got away with it :P

I'm proud to embrace my geek-ness! I don't particularly care much about when other people joke about it :)
And besides.. i'm not quite at the stage of going to a Trek convention dressed as Mr Spock, etc ;)
