Yet another broken car
Writing about Today's theme – broken cars from Contemplating the Frame
Yes Tom and Steve, I can relate to your poor broken cars – mine has gone a bollock too – perhaps because they got confused with the weather and think it's winter again!
On the way to work the other morning, the battery light kept flicking on, but in my normal manner – let's just ignore that until it stays on and starts to look serious. I didn't have to wait long for on the way home the light came on permanently and suddenly the power steering locks and I can't turn the wheel. On bugger – please just get me home, c'mon, please just get me home! (why is it that things are so much better if only you can get home?) Luckily managed to get back okay. Took it to the garage yesterday (felt like maneouvering a tank through the narrow streets where the garage is) in the vague hope that it might be the fanbelt (only £40), but no looks like it might be the alternator. Looks like it's gonna be a £200 touch. Not as bad as Steve's admittedly but still painful nevertheless! Cars – the ultimate money pits!

I sympathise completely. After handing over nearly £1200 yesterday, I noticed today that at some point between me dropping it off and them repairing it that Allen Ford have kindly given me a complimentary 4-inch paint scratch on the front wing.
