Stay of execution for the restaurants

Writing about web page http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/insite/campus_life/hospitalityannouncement/solution/

Well it looks as though the Raffles and Westwood restaurants are due to stay open for the next year at least.

That's absolutely fantastic news! Well done everyone who expressed a view/sent an email/signed a petition etc – I'm pretty sure it must have been this collective ground swell that made a little bit of difference, even if it's only for the short term.

Thank you as well to Messrs Baldwin and Greatrix and the other 'user representatives' who met to discuss the future of the restaurants. We had the chance to air our views, and we were listened to and the management team seem to have made a decision that took the different perspectives on board. I think we are quite lucky to be in a university like this!

Okay, so the restaurants still have a long way to go to prove their economic viability and I sincerely hope that they won't be given impossible monthly targets to meet, but I do believe that it is a fresh start, so please folks, use them as much as possible from the Autumn!

Wishing y'all love n' peace (n' good grub!)
