Scond English Lesson with Sara

I had another English class today with Sarah.

Pronunciation

She pointed out the difference pronunciation between "th" and "s". With "th", you put your tongue between your teech. You can see the tip of the tongue. With "s", your tongue is behind the teech. Like "Month". Pronounciation for "Months" is even more difficult. you have to move your tongue out and in. I was very surprised that she could detect such subtle difference.

Always pronounce the "S" of the plural nounces. I noticed I was lazy and trid to skip it. "It will make you sound much fluent", she told me.

"V" is also difficult for me. I can notice the "V" lead words now. If "V" sits in the middle of the words, I often forget. Like "government", "Preventative","Oven"

Words

Saharan /sa:ha:ren/ Anthony /anteni/
Pharaoh /faro/ Raj /ra:dg/ Sphinx /sfinks/
Spark alarm, heighten fear

10 to the power of 2 = 10 * 10 = 100
can we say: 2 powers of 10 ?
three square root of 8 = 8/2/2/2 = 1
order of magnitude
