DEATH to the crazy frog advert.
I spend many an agonising minute over the holidays trying to escape this damn advert, why why why do they do it? do they think that if they annoy you enough with it you'll just buy it?
I don't know, annoyed the hell out of me. And it had little genitals, you see those? link

Well here's some interesting facts about that ringtone and its origins.
A friend of someone's once worked as the BAR F1 Teams Radio Engineer and it was a friend of his who wrote it as a micky take for the Renault F1's team new engine design that they had. Trouble is the engine had a few problems with it and would on the "odd" occasion blow up! That sound effect was played over the team's loud speakers when ever a Renault came into the pits.
So there you go this "new" ringtone has infact been around for about 4 years!

Has anyone actually downloaded this ringtone? I've never heard anyone with it yet it's always "top of the ringtone charts". It's like Spice Girls: always number 1 but nobody ever admitted to buying their stuff.

Sorry to explode the myth – and this will sound very sad – but that can't be right…
RenaultF1 only took that name in 2002 – previously having been called Benetton – and it was that year they introduced the 110-degree V-10 which caused them big reliability problems.
I remember hearing this sound years ago – 2000 at the latest. BAR only bought out Tyrrell in 1999 and they ran the same engine as Benetton in their first year (a re-badged '97 Renault V10). In 2000 BAR had more engine failures than Renault.
BAR may have enjoyed playing the sound in the pits every now and then but I doubt the bloke at BAR wrote it. Urban myths often grow up around cult fads like this one (normally involving 'a friend of a friend'!).

This sound was on an animation on the web about 4 years ago, so it might have stemed from BAR. But the sound was used over the animation of an f1 car.

Last time i encountered the frog, i was pinned down under enemy fire.
It was during those fatefull 24 hours that my quest was unfolded to me. After the initial foreplay, we got down to business. I took no amphibious prisoners that day, i rammed home the message like a frenchman on heat.
That frog had violated my personal space, the personal space of Martán la Mace
There is only one punishment deemed worthy of such offence. Death by rape.
Using my haribo fangtastic berry shaped sweet i carved a phallic tunnel into the rectum of the vile creature, using only my wits (and my penis) i ravaged that devil toad like the penguin from 'batman returns'. Once it had stopped moving, i pissed over its corpse. I lit the piss, and the lifeless body was engulfed with green flame.
Everything changed that day.
I've never been the same.

If i ever have the pleasure of finding the person that made that highly annoying ad i will personally string them up by there privates, tie them to the back of my car and drag them round london only to slow down for other poor members of london to repeatedly kick them!!!! so if anyone happens to know the information on how to find these idiots would you please forward the address!!!!!

Guys, please check your facts. This has absolutly NO connection to any F1-team, hte facts:
In 1997, a swedish 17 years old kid named Daniel Malmedahl and his friends spend most of their time in a garage tuning mopedengines. Daniel thought it was fun to imitate his engines and his friends found it so funny that the actually recorded the sound and published it on the internet. The soundfile then circulated in various mails around Sweden (and outside too).
Finaly the file ended up in the animationartist Erik Wernquist´s mailbox. He found it so funny that He arround 2003 acctually created an animation to the soundfile, that he namned "The Annoying Thing"
The a German company called Jamster bought the rights for this figure and renamed it "The Crazy Frog"
I have to say that i find it funny as hell, but on the other hand, I don´t have to watch it every fu**ing time therse a comercial on tv. If I had to do that, then I would probably hate it to.
