Europe vs Hollywood: The Edukators
A German film about anti-capitalists who move peoples furniture around…
When I heard about The Edukators from a friend I didn't really know what to expect but I wanted to go along as I'd never watched a foreign film before (foreign as in, in another language). I did German as a module so thought it would be a good way to keep it up and am doing French now so have a general interest in European languages. However, surprisingly enough that was the least of what I got out of it. It was an amazing film and it was so refreshing to watch something that was not fresh out of Hollywood. Julia Jentsch (Jule) wore little makeup, was airbrush free and just very natural. None of the actors had flourescent white, pefectly straight teeth and so on. The cinematography was beautiful and the film had a bit of everything…it was original, had a good plot, some hilarious lines, a bit of romance and some eye candy for the girls! All in all it was a wicked film; the best I've seen in ages! (Although Pride and Prejudice comes a close second!)
