Notes on a small island…
Just to say I had another top night out in old London tahn the yesterday and as I wandered across Putney bridge I was surprised to see rather a lot of boats. It was of course the Womens HORR, something I’d completely forgotten about (despit knowing the date of the Mens HORR for ages, erm…). Anyway had a chat to a friend I saw on the bridge, used to be UWBC, which was cool. Then went to a pub to watch the rugby and got introduced to the gf of a friend who was from Portsmouth way which aided conversation a tad. Guess it does underline how it’s not that big a country – although both of the groups mentioned there do come from fairly small groups (rowers and the mil.).
Besides that not a lot to say, think I’ve figured out what has to be done on certain fronts, although time frame could run to months atm. Erm, nothing else really – been watching a bit of rock on music telly so I’ve renewed some of my musical tastes too(pocket full of CDs atm).
Anywho, should bugger off home and go for a run before the weather turns cruddy.

You should have hung around for 24 hours and watched a City of Bristol crew disembark at Putney, empty the Thames out of the boat, then head off to row back to the Cival Service in “unrowable conditions”.

We had to bail out yesterday. And then still had to empty the boat again at Putney when we got back.
Today… Vets Head… Almost mirror conditons, or what passes for such at the Tideway. There is no justice.
