I found the effective presentation workshop very interesting in terms the techniques utilised by the teacher to inject a degree of confidence in us during the outside task. I particularly found the networking task and the group working session very helpful as it enable me to share my previous problems with conducting presentation as well as enabling me to gain insightful information from other students. Most importantly, I really enjoyed the individual presentation and I was able to capitalised on the feedback given which will be utilised when conducting my academic presentation on Week 7. Additionally, I gained a valuable insightful in presentation techniques as well as how to utilised powerpoint presentation effectively during academic presentation.

MAIN ACTION POINTS

ACTION ONE

  • I have to conduct a presentation on Week 7 and my main action plan is to improve the structure of my presentation by enforcing the three action points of having a simplitic introduction, detailed body and a concise conclusion.

ACTION TWO

  • I particularly found it difficult to control my nerves when conducting presentations. My key action plan is to make good preparation by practicing in front of a course buddy and making sure I have a glass of water by my side at all time during the presentation.

ACTION THREE

  • My final action plan is to utilise visual aid within my presentation as well as ensuring that I keep within the time framework.
