So, who's free on the 4th March!?
I'd just like to post, in its entirety, the following email I just received from my Maths department

Subject: [MA-3] Oxford, Cambridge and Warwick Maths Societies weekend

Oxford, Cambridge and Warwick Maths societies have come together to organise
a fantastic weekend (4th and 5th March) up at Cambridge jam packed with
loads of fun things and of course some maths too! The provisional itinerary
is shown below, contact Peyman Owladi
or to book your place!
= Saturday 4th March =
4pm: Arrival, find rooms, meet people, etc
accomodation: £15 for a room, or bring a sleeping bag and crash on someones
floor.
5pm: Three half-hour lectures, each on a particular problem and solution
– Prof. Imre Leader (Combinatorialist and national Othello champion)
– Prof. Martin Hyland (Mathematical Logic & Category Theory)
– Prof. Neil Turok (Cosmology)
Talk titles and details TBC
Location: ! Trinity College (Winstanley Lecture Theatre)
7pm: Dinner (Venue TBC)
4 course formal dinner ~£30
= Sunday 5th March =
9.30am: Breakfast at a cafe if you're awake
11am: Punting on the Cam (weather permitting)
1pm: Pub lunch
2.30pm: Problems Drive (in Centre for Mathematical Sciences)
– A mini maths-ish competition
– Twelve 5-minute questions to be solved in pairs
– We also have some faculty members competing!
(Compete against Cambridge professors!!)
– Refreshments afterwards
5pm: Head home

I've been trying to think of some dry, withering response to put at the end of this post, but frankly I think the email speaks for itself, and there's nothing else to be said…

Now then, Mardy Bum…
At the weekend I obtained a copy of the Arctic Monkeys album, and have to say that I've probably listened to Mardy Bum about 20 billion times. What an utterly utterly brilliant song.
I think I'm going to listen to it again right now…
