Description:

In a browser, go to the Learning Styles activity on the Warwick Skills site

http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/cll/skills/personalacaddevelopment/learningstyles/
Do the activity (allow 20-30 minutes). On the final page you will be asked to enter the results in your own blog, with an opportunity to add your own reflections. Consider your own learning style, adding any insights gained from past experience of strengths and weaknesses in academic work as an individual and part of a collaborative group. How might your individual approach to learning affect you as a doctor in training?

Do not forget to use the category ‘PDP’ for your response. If your earlier response on learning styles was in the ‘General’ category, please change it to ‘PDP’. (Use the ‘Admin’ link and then ‘Edit your entries’)

My Learning Style

Response to prompt "Learning Styles (2)" (View all responses or all Fred Bloggs responses)

Writing about web page http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/cll/skills/personalacaddevelopment/learningstyles/

Aim of the Learning Styles activity
  • To enable you to understand your own approach to learning better
  • To adapt your learning strategy to be most effective during your time as a student at Warwick.
Result:
  • I had a strong preference for being an Activist
  • I had a moderate preference for being a Reflector
  • I had a moderate preference for being a Theorist
  • I could not be given a preference for pragmatist

My strongest preference was found to be: Reflector (59%)

This Learning Styles activity was devised by Warwick Skills

So, I am a reflector…..I'll take some time to reflect on that one!!
having read the disadvantages, they are all appropriate!
Think this is useful to reinforce what I really already knew.
