The Bible In A Year: Day 3 (January 3rd)
Follow-up to The Bible In A Year: Day 2 (January 2nd) from The Utovsky Bolshevik Show
Even less time to spend on the passage today, this is being written on the train from Stansted to Peterborough.
The reading for January 3rd is Genesis 7-9 and Romans 3.
Genesis 7-9 is concerned with Noah and his ark, and the covenant from God that he will never again destroy all that is on the earth (nice of him :D), sealed with a rainbow.
In Romans 3, Pauls spends more time on the fact that you do not need to be a Jew to be saved through Christ. He also discusses how righteousness is no longer found only through the Law. It’s slightly strange to be writing this to the Roman church, but I suppose that there must have been a minority of Jewish Christians claiming that they were better/more devout/more saved than the non-Jewish Christians…
