Current affairs
Thoughts I've had the past few days which don't really warrant entries of their own:
While we're on the subject of Jake Gyllenhall, I saw the poster for his latest offering, Jarhead, t'other day and thought – here it is, by the way –
"now I'm not exactly into internet culture, but surely it's crying out to be photoshopped to read 'WELCOME TO TEH SUCK', no?"
As incompetent as Ruth Kelly seems to be as Education Secretary, I don't think she should go. Firstly, I read an interview with her once and generally agreed with her. But secondly, and more relevant to recent developments, the government doesn't need to vet paedophiles who want to work in schools. The way things are going, the tabloids are going to name and shame sex offenders anyway, and when their students find out they'll be ripped to shreds. Half the male teachers at my school were accused of being paedos at some point so imagine what'd happen were it true? Fuck the Respect Agenda; harness the anti-socialness of the kids to root out the kiddy fiddlers.
Sven should be fired, if only for falling for the oldest trick in the book. I thought everyone knew that you shouldn't tell 'rich Arabs' your secrets ever since Sophie Wessex did. Makes you wonder how many people the NotW have tried that with only to be knocked back.
Anyone who's seen the second series of The Mighty Boosh: listen to James Blunt's latest song and tell me he isn't Old Gregg.
Goodbye my lover
I got a mangina!
And the ongoing race to find the most evil American has a new contender: Samuel Alito.
That's your lot. I'll probably write something about that atheist dude after the second instalment of his programme, which I'm missing as we speak.
