WHY IS IT SO COLD????
WeatherAction, a forecaster, is predicting temperatures in the Midlands will plummet to -17c this month.
MINUS 17 DEGREES CELSIUS

Brilliant.
The Met Office are refuting this forecast, but then I’m not in a believing mood.
‘Winter is going to be mild, says Met Office’ – in the Telegraph back in September.
Given that the Met Office gets a financial bonus if it gets the weather right, I’m thinking this Winter might not be their most profitable…
P.S. A quick scoot around the Googlesphere suggests there’s a lot of scepticism about the Met Office’s long-range forecasting, with some suspicion that they’re written to help the climate change lobby.

I’m Midlands born and raised. My Mum occasionally tells me how during winter after I was born, or it might have been after my sister was born, it was getting as low as -20c at night. This was the latter half of the 1970s.
