South Park Kills the Queen

The Queen is Dead. Long Live Comedy. British newspapers have reacted in outrage to an episode of South Park, where in an homage to 24, the British Queen is behind a plot to take over the United States government. The plot fails, and she blows her head off with a gun.

The Sun called it the show’s “sickest point yet”. The Daily Mail said it was “its most spectacularly offensive episode yet”.

Chris Doidge said it was “the funniest thing he’d heard in a long, long time”. A spokesman for Chris Doidge added he was still laughing now, even though he should be writing his law coursework.

Allan tried talking in the third person, but I got confused about halfway through.

It’s inevitable the usual suspects will see this as highly offensive. Have the ‘Ban this sick filth!’ headlines came out yet?

  3. Christopher Doidge

Chris Doidge decided that the newspapers themselves probably don’t believe what they’re writing (what’s new?) and that they were just short of a story.

Aww spolier warnings! I haven’t watched this episode yet.

Do tabloids work in the same way Jack Thompson does, in that everything they say is the polar opposite of correct?

    SPOILERS :(

Almost as funny as when the papers went apeshit for South Park showing someone in a Steve Irwin costume at a fancy dress party, even though the script was “Man… too soon.”

It’s interesting that they’re pissed off that the Queen kills herself but don’t seem to mind the bit right at the end with Cartman being proud of getting rid of the Muslims :P.

Nor do they care about the hundreds of our proud, brave British Marines, slaughtered by advanced American technology.

Matt – Just noticed your comment. Wasn’t it actually Steve Irwin… But the Devil sees him and says “Man, too soon”?

  12. Holly Cruise

A spokesperson for Holly Cruise thinks that the fact that people are still getting outraged about the things South Park does after 10 years shows that Stone and Parker are clearly still geniuses and necessary parts of the modern world.

I was kinda sickened by the brain spilling out of ERII’s head. But Hildog’s Southern accent is hilarious, so I’ll let them off.

That’s another thing…. the whole Hilary’s Snuck Snooch Snatch thing was far more offensive than the Queen shooting herself in the head :P.
