Diagnostic Radiology Workshop – reflections

Writing about web page http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/med/research/hsri/research/visualisation/biomedvisualisations/workshop2/programme

Participants in the first workshop of the series elected to write a reflection on the workshop in the form of an 'exquisite corpse'. Participants took turns to add their ideas to a collaborative document. I am pleased to announce that the writing is now complete. Click here to visit the project website and read the final version.

Have You Ever Seen a Molecule? Art, Science and Visual Communication

This interdisciplinary conference about the correlations between science and art, focussing on visualisation in molecular biology. Looks really interesting and I thought it might interest you too...

Unfortunately I can't go, but would love to hear about it.

BBC radio 4 'Images that changed the world'

Writing about web page http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00q2qjj

This programme aired the week of 25 Jan 2010, for 15 minutes each weekday. Segments covered X-ray, brain scan, foetal ultrasound, microscopy, and genes.

It's no longer available on 'listen again' but they were happy to send me a CD of the show. If the BBC gave me permission I would happily copy it and send it out; alternatively, email me and I can send you the address of the person at the BBC who helped me.

I promised to provide a link to the Biosocial Society, and here it is.

The Biosocial Society is, in brief, an academic organisation that fosters collaboration between biological and social sciences engaged in research on human diversity. The Society offers semi-annual small grants to post-graduates for research and for conference travel; see http://www.biosocsoc.org/Bursaryscheme.htm
