It's come to this..

Last film I saw at the cinema
Chick flick "Wedding Date" with the biology girlies (fab day that was!)
Was OK, except men aren't like that in real life, and Jack Davenport gets married in it (grrr)

Last film I watched on DVD/on computer/TV etc

Ferris Buellers Day off. It's a classic–forgotten how good it was!
(sadly no more, since my DVD drive snapped and haven't had time to replace it :( )

Films I'm looking forward to seeing
Urmm. Absolutely no idea–will get back to this one.

Total number of films I own
Lots–but most of them are shite.

Five films that mean something to me

Hmm.

1. La vita e bella. Saw this when I was 15 and it's one of the most amazing films I have ever seen–talk about cathartic!!

2. When Harry met Sally. Only saw this relatively recently. I know it's soppy and romantic, but I just think it tells an amazing story, and Billy Crystal rocks.

3. Amelie. It just makes me smile. (but not dubbed)

4. The Italian Job (the original version)–I love the way the cars take on personalities of their own

5. Goodbye Lenin. Parents saw this in Berlin when it first came out (undubbed, obviously) in a tiny east german cinema–said it was amazing. Saw it at the local arts, but saw exactly what they meant.

By no means definitive list–since it really depends on my mood.

Have already had baton passed on by people who would send it to, so I shall just cross the finish line here..

  1. Congrats on picking The Italian Job and Goodbye Lenin! I'll get around to doing my list at some point, but not for the next 5 horrible why–can't–it–all–just–go–away days.

On your other post: coffee good!

  2. Never seen Goodbye Lenin. The original Italian Job was ok but is an evil film. The remake was, for the most part, better in my opinion.

  3. Hmm… personally don't know what you'd make of Goodbye Lenin. In a way it's the kind of film you want to watch with like minded people. There are tanks in it though. But no fast cars.
I take it Italian Job is evil because they kill all those nice cars?! Yeah, that is quite painful..

Coffee is great it keeps me sane :)

  4. Evil? What?

The remake's a terrible American piece of rubbish, for which they very nearly used the new Beetle instead of the new Mini! (Just imagine it)! The original is so camp and hilarious, not to mention one of the best film endings ever and the best car chase.

I should have said Amelie was a good choice too, and I've not seen the others.

  5. Yes Anna is right – the original is evil because they killed a Miura, 2 E–Types and a DB5. Real ones :–(

I like the remake :–( Jason Statham is cool. And the original's car chase was crap, if you want a decent car chase go watch The Bourne Identity (also uses a mini interestingly), or any one of a number of Bond films. Matrix: Reloaded also had a kick–ass highway scene.
