Let's discuss Jelly Babies*
*and other colourful and delightful snacks
The best colour Jelly Baby is the red one, be careful not to get this confused with the pink one (which doesn't even deserve the sensation that is to rest on my tongue for a few seconds before being thoroughly masticated).
So to reiterate, Red Jelly Babies Are The Best.
Now we'll move onto Skittles. I don't want to taste the Rainbow, I want to be able to buy a packet of Red Skittles, none of the other ones. Red Skittles are truly delicious. If you disagree then you're wrong, Red Skittles are the best.
Now for the final item on my list, Smarties. Smarties are a difficult one since only a very small part of each Smartie (Smarty?) actually has a varying flavour, after eating several tubes before exams (in the hope that they truly have the answer) I reached the conclusion that the Orange ones are probably the best. So for Smarties, it's Orange not Red, that's Orange.

I haven't sufficiently sampled Jelly Beans, I do recall that one colour tastes vaguely of soap though. Your homework is to investigate and report your findings.

you appear to have missed out Opal Fruits? I refuse to call them star burst, because i think opal fruits is a much better name, and makes me want to eat them when ever i hear it!

I'm quite partial to the red Opal Fruits too, but I haven't sampled them enough recently to draw a concrete conclusion.

starburst now not opal fruits, and red is best for everything really except smarties where i'd go more purple or blue (blue one''s contain certain E number which lead to hyperactivity in some cases- always a good thing!

It has to be said that Andrew Ingram knows what he's talking about! Red jelly babies and red skittles are the world's finest! But I'd have to beg to differ with the smarties choice because blue smarties create a sensation like no other! I'm not into drugs but I'm sure no drug on earth could give you the hit that blue smarties do! Andrew, your thoughts on red strawberries?

I think the blue smarties have more artificial additives which probably gives it that little extra smartie-goodness, but i'm sure that whenever I eat an orange skittle I can taste the very faintest of orange-flavouring, or maybe it's just a psychological thing.
How about Fruit Pastilles? I find I eat far too many of them at once to be able to choose a favourite.

RED SKITTLES! how right you are. Definatley the best ones, i usually leave them all until the end.
None of you have mentioned Starburst Joosters I notice, they are way better than skittles but only slightly better than jelly babies.

don't like joosters they're too undecided. they don't know what they want to be. they want to be a skittle with a jelly baby inside, it just doesn't work like that! jelly tots are awesome but black fruit pastilles, wow! you can buy entire packs of them! does that not prove how incredible they are if the makers dedicate an entire pack to them!

Blue Smarties are evil, they (Smarties, some colours, not all) contain crushed up beetles that gives them their colour, that's no word of a lie, cochineal beetle, female.

Yes, it is a fact that the orange smarties do in fact taste of orange, and when there was light brown and dark brown smarties, the light had hazelnut flavouring and the dark was in fact dark chocolate instead of milk…. and that is fact I read it in one of those usless information books you get for christmas!!!!
