Assistance required

I have tried and I have failed. I now plea for help.

Does anybody know of a way to implement in Microsoft Excel a spreadsheet to calculate the Discrete Cosine Transform applied to a real vector of length 8? And then another to compute the inverse transform?

I would be most interested in finding out how this is achieved without the need to create a ridiculously complicated spreadsheet.
